All that said, the Argentina-Brazil game was great. Loads of chances and best of all, 0-0, so Brazil doesn't gain on Colombia and Argentina doesn't make space between them either. Now the long wait until September.

If the Paraguayans maintain their current level, I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the semifinals of the world cup. Of course, there is a long time before that. The others still have much to improve.

I agree with you, but those "strugglers" have to start shutting people up on the world stage! I would love to start seeing deep runs by the other (as in, not Brazil or Argentina) Latin American teams year in, year out.

People are crazy to dismiss the football of other South American nations. There is a reason the Copa America can be just as exciting as the European Cup. Right now every country in South America except Bolivia has plenty of quality and while they might lack to depth of western European powers, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia and recently Ecuador have all managed to hold their own in world cups.
