FPC Roundup: Ambassadors kicked out of eight while greens get some air

This weekend’s fixtures were full of action: Lots of goals, red cards, rain and everything you may need to consider it a decent dose of entertaining soccer (wether or not the aforementioned elements are part of whatever “entertaining soccer” means to you)

As I told you before, league leaders La Equidad could not get anything out of their visit to Huila and that prompted their followers Medellin and Santa Fe reduce the Insurance Sellers’ lead after their positive results. Medellin got a 0-0 draw after a tough visit to the All Whites of Once Caldas while Santa Fe tossed aside the star-studded but underachieving Deportivo Cali with a 2-0 home win.

As for the two teams with more supporters in Colombia, Millonarios got outdone in their visit to Pasto (a 0-2 Loss) while Nacional got a much-needed 3-1 to a 2nd string Cucuta side due to the Tribe’s Copa Libertadores Commitments this week. (Which are reported in here)

The disappointing sharks were actually winning 2-0 to Quindio but they could not handle the pressure and ended up drawing 2-2 while America exorcized the demons after their away loss in Bogotá and in turn gave Pereira a 4-1 thrashing. But the real thrashing of the day was the 7-3 (gee, this makes us look like MLS) that Boyaca Chicó inflicted upon Tolima. The warriors are now bottom dwellers of the league and rightly so, after the management has laughed at the fans face by becoming a revolving door of coaches.

A grand total of 32 goals combining both offensive prowess and, no doubt, defensive woes.
